The University of Texas at El Paso is proud to host the 2026 Student Steel Bridge Competition (SSBC) National Finals. This event brings together the winners of 19 regional competitions from across North America to compete for the top spot in the nation.
Organized by the American Institute of Steel Construction and the American Society of Civil Engineers, the competition challenges students to design, fabricate, and construct a scale-model steel bridge while optimizing efficiency, speed, stiffness, and economy.
We are excited to welcome students, faculty, judges, sponsors, and volunteers to El Paso for a weekend celebrating innovation, teamwork, and excellence in structural engineering.
